Foundational Pillars of Leadership is SML’s flagship course. Covering nine leadership disciplines, participants will gain actionable tools to give them success. Topics covered in this course include:
- What to expect as a new leader
- What integrity actually means
- How attitude impacts team performance
- The value of ownership
- Effective communication strategies
- What it means to develop the members of a team
- How to effectively delegate
- Navigating unmet expectations
- And the important discipline of growth
In alignment with SML’s emphasis on empowerment and real-world application, each session includes a Make It Happen exercise that prompts participants to put the principle into practice immediately, as well as a Personal Investment Assignment, facilitating engagement with concepts between sessions. Additionally, two review sessions are included to ensure content is retained and implemented. In the final session, participants celebrate the 12-session journey of growth with a graduation ceremony and bestowment of certification.
Graduates must attend at least 9 of the 12 sessions, complete all course assignments and be present for sessions 5 and 11 (review sessions).

Foundational Pillars of Leadership, is a 12-session Basic Leadership Certification, designed to provide real-world tools empowering leadership skills that promote teamwork and productivity.
