SML Consultive Conference Drawing – Official Rules and Terms & Conditions

1. Organizer

This drawing (“Drawing”) is organized and conducted by SML Consultive (“Organizer”).

2. Eligibility

  • Open to individuals who are registered attendees of the Anderson Area SHRM Annual Conference on August 6, 2026, in Anderson, SC. 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority in the applicable jurisdiction).
  • Employees, contractors, officers, and directors of SML Consultive, and their immediate family members and household members, are not eligible to win.

3. Drawing Details

  • When: The Drawing will take place on-site at the conclusion of the Conference on August 6, 2026.
  • Where: Make Waves 2026 Anderson Area SHRM Annual Conference.
  • How Winners Are Selected: Winners will be selected by random draw from all eligible registered attendees present at the time of the Drawing (or as otherwise specified by the Organizer).
  • Attendance at the Drawing is recommended but not required to win; however, if a winner is not present, the Organizer may, at its sole discretion, redraw for that prize or contact the winner afterward using the contact information provided at registration.

4. Prizes

The following prizes will be awarded:

  1. First Prize: One (1) on-site or virtual SML IMPACT Workshop for up to 75 attendees (to be scheduled and delivered by SML Consultive at a mutually agreed-upon time and location; travel and venue costs, if any, are the responsibility of the prize recipient unless otherwise specified by SML).
  2. Second Prize: One (1) individual registration for SML’s Introduction to Leadership Course (valid for a specified course offering as determined by SML; subject to availability and scheduling).
  3. Third Prize: One (1) signed paperback copy of Jon Antonucci’s book, “Servant-Minded Leadership: How Mindfulness Changes Servant Leadership.” 
  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a listed prize becomes unavailable.
  • Any additional costs (e.g., taxes, travel, accommodation, internet access, device requirements) not explicitly included in the prize description are the sole responsibility of the winner.

5. Winner Notification

  • Winners will be announced on-site at the conclusion of the event.
  • SML Consultive may also follow up with winners via email or phone using the contact information provided during conference registration.
  • Winners may be required to confirm acceptance of the prize and provide any additional information needed to fulfill the prize (e.g., scheduling details).

6. No Guarantee of Winning

  • There is no guarantee that any individual registrant will win a prize.
  • Selection is based purely on chance through a random draw.

7. Consent to Contact and Marketing

  • By registering for the conference and entering the Drawing, participants agree that SML Consultive may contact them regarding the Drawing and about SML’s services, programs, and offerings, including via email, phone, or other communication channels.
  • This consent does not override a participant’s right to opt out of future marketing communications where applicable law provides such a right.

8. Publicity and Use of Name/Image

  • By accepting a prize, winners grant SML Consultive permission to use their name, likeness, and biographical information (including conference affiliation) for promotional and marketing purposes related to SML Consultive, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

9. General Conditions and Limitation of Liability

  • SML Consultive reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Drawing at any time in its sole discretion, including in the event of technical issues, natural disasters, or other circumstances beyond its control.
  • SML Consultive is not responsible for:
    • Incorrect, incomplete, or late registration information;
    • Technical failures, network issues, or other problems that may affect a participant’s ability to register or be contacted;
    • Any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from participation in the Drawing or use of the prize.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, SML Consultive’s liability in connection with this Drawing is limited to the actual value of the prize awarded.

10. Governing Law

  • This Drawing and these Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
