Every time I see plants pushing their way through the earth, I am inspired!

I am by no means a “green thumb”. But, the other day, the association came to do our spring gardening and planted some bulbs.

Honestly, I was more intrigued by the woodchips that they laid as their fresh look really brought up the overall look, in my opinion.
But, just a couple of days later, I began to see some green poking through the mulch and the following day I took these pictures.

In order for them to bloom into their current beauty, these bulbs had to be:
– Developed in their original setting
– Uprooted and transported to an unfamiliar place
– Buried in strange ground under odd covering
– Enclosed in coldness and darkness for a few days

But without each and every one of those steps, I would not have beautiful blooms in front of my home!

As a leader, I cannot help but think about how the beauty and growth of a plant parallels the journey of growth that I am on. Often, in order to grow, I must:
– Develop to the extent I can in a given setting
– Relocate to unfamiliar territory
– Feel buried by the new and different
– Engage times of solitude and discomfort

But, then I get to see the growth and development that was necessary for the next step I would take in life!

So, what is the message, I would love to share with you, today?
It is simple, really. Next time you find yourself uprooted, relocated, buried, or alone take joy in the fact that you are VERY likely on the path toward growth and are getting ready to add great beauty to the world!
