“Being a leader is easy.” … said NO leader EVER!!!

If you think that leadership is easy, then you haven’t been a leader…or at least not for very long.

The reality is that, while #leadership is extremely #rewarding, it is simultaneously ridiculously challenging! But that is actually a good thing! For if you have lived very long at all, then you know the best things in life are never easy.

Consider those who you admire and respect. Is it because they had an easy road or is it due to their determination and perseverance amid tremendous difficulty?

Think of those who have made the biggest #impact in your personal life. Have they been able to do so with little/no effort, or did they have to invest in you and sometimes show up for you in ways that you couldn’t even show up for yourself?

Indeed, being a #leader is tough. But it is worth it.

Even more challenging is being a Servant-Minded Leader. The #ServantMindedLeader doesn’t receive any of the usual benefits of leadership because all the good things they DO receive they pass off to their team. But, the intrinsic reward is the stuff of #legacy. When we are willing to do the hard work of building up others, of advocating for others, of being a champion of others, we are leaving a legacy that is so much bigger than a business or a product/service. We are impacting lives. We are changing the world!

As we step out into a new week, may this post be a small reminder to us all that we are doing a hard work but it is a work worth doing. We are the ones who get to change a life. We are the ones who get to #changetheworld!
