A Q4, 2023 report revealed that 25% of those surveyed indicated they were working for the worst boss they’d ever had. 😬

Toxic culture often starts at the top, but it is truly carried by front-line leaders who are stuck trying to lead without any resources or meaningful training.

Another report suggested that the average 1st-year leader has received approximately 10 minutes (or a pamphlet) of leadership development training. This is an obvious recipe for disaster.

The more time I spend working with organizations and leaders the more convinced I become of how desperately these front-line leaders are crying out for empowerment and tools for success. Their cries (whether verbal or behavioral) are the reason I call them “forgotten leaders”. They carry a great weight of responsibility, but are provided with precious few meaningful resources.

Many of these leaders end up doing the best they can with what they have which, unfortunately, results in less transparent but very similar results to what is depicted in the image below.
